Every primary school should have this book and every child should know this story. Wangari Maathai’s story is inspiring, beautiful, true and important story. The first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize, her bravery and vision will show children that they too can make an impact.
This would be an excellent book to use when talking about deforestation. Following it up with a video of Wangari Maathai telling a story will help kickstart a conversation about what your children could do to help the world.
